Arts & Culture

“Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable”. George Bernard Shaw Mr Shaw was onto something. Embracing all aspects of art and culture enriches our minds and souls; stimulating our imagination to create the incredible and understand that anything is possible. Melbourne is one of those remarkable places that overflow with artistic and cultural expression allowing each part of this wonderful city to have its own vibrant and unique culture. Our vision is that through this group, Henley members will have the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas about the different areas of the arts and discussing how it influences modern society and culture in a creative environment. The Arts and Culture group welcomes anyone who is passionate about art, music, theatre, dance, politics, language, design, life and love.

Domestic & International Affairs

“An informed citizenry is at the heart of a dynamic democracy.” – Thomas Jefferson. The Domestic & International Affairs working group hopes to better inform the Henley community by providing a space to hold discussions about topical world events. We aim to offer an opportunity for those informed to participate in these discussions, as well as a chance for those that don’t necessarily have a lot of time to keep up to date with current affairs to gain insight into complex issues. So whether you are an expert on International affairs, or just keen to learn more about the things you hear in the news, this group is for you.

Working groups at Henley focus on identifying and addressing risks and opportunities facing Australia.

Each working group, led by two Henley members, hopes to explore how we can add value to each other’s projects, companies and organisations in particular focus areas. Working groups organise events and help to rally corporate and government support.
